Electric Dethatcher & Scarifier - 20V 4Ah Battery, 14" Rake

Bought this thinking it would be faster and less cumbersome than dealing with a corded version. Wrong! It only runs for 30 minutes per charge, then takes 3 hours for each battery to recharge. That's 30 minutes on, 6 hours off. Waste of time and money.

The SuperHandy 2-in-1 Cordless Electric Dethatcher/Scarifier is a simple yet efficient tool for small patches of grass. It is easy to assemble and use, and I found it to be very effective for small areas of dead grass. The collecting bag is useful, but it could be improved by making it bigger to collect more volume at a time. The bag design could also be improved to fit more closely to the frame to prevent dirt from escaping through the openings around the frame interface while in use. This unit is suitable for small domestic use, but commercial usage will require something stronger. The two 20V batteries are reliable and provide sufficient power if used accordingly.

The machine itself works well enough. It rips out a surprisingly amount of thatch stuck in the grass and does so with little effort. However, the amount of ground I can work with one charge is very very limited - and I only have a small yard. If I had it to do over, I would have purchased one with a cord to just plug into the socket. The wire would be less hassle than charging and recharging… and recharging… and recharging. I think you get my point.
